Having access to direct feedback and the ability to understand the performance of our designs in detail now allows us to test our assumptions, and there really is no good excuse for still designing poor-performing buildings. Importantly, getting performance feedback during early design stages not only helps designers to make any specific design perform better, but it also helps us to develop a better intuition for asking the right metrics and making the right decisions. This approach revolutionizes the way we design for performance.

Performance based design means that we can understand the energy profile of the buildings we design, it means that we can understand the relative impact of different strategies, and even more than that, how these strategies affect each other. All this leads to optimized buildings for which each individual decision has been made based on a good understanding and performance has become an essential part of the design process.
